The View

Tell me what you see when you look
through the window of life.
For many there is God’s beauty.
For others there is strife.

Seeds of unhappiness can grow
into mountains so high.
Overwhelmed by all the burdens
can make you want to cry.

It’s easy to forget all that
He’s given to each one.
Just because He has put us here
does not mean that He’s done.

We have our trials and suffering.
We think He’s done us wrong.
What we fail to realize is
the trials make us strong.

To help you understand, I have
these simple words for you:
If you do not climb the mountain,
you cannot see the view.

When you are down and out and feel
like there is no more hope,
button down all the hatches and
know that you can cope.

If you want, kneel down before Him.
You can talk at great length.
Reach deep down inside yourself and
gather up all your strength.

Slowly, just one step at a time.
That’s all it really takes.
At the top you’ll see God’s beauty.
You’ll see how great the stakes.

You’ll see a world of lush green grass
and Heaven’s bright blue skies.
God’s great grace abounds near and far.
The fields are where hope lies.

To help you understand, I have
these simple words for you:
If you do not climb the mountain,
you cannot see the view.
