This One’s For You

This one’s for all the special things
that you have done for me.
Sometimes I think if not for you
I don’t know where I’d be.

The world is full of ups and downs
as both of us well know.
If strong and unafraid to fight,
a smile you will then show.

Your friendship is so dear to me
and in my heart it stays
for many are the memories
we’ve shared throughout these days.

A special friend is hard to find;
but also hard to lose
because a special friend is one
that you yourself shall choose.

Thanks does not seem to be enough
but it will have to do.
Along with thanks, I want to say:
‘My friend, this one’s for you.’
