This is one of my favorite poems. This poem will
remain on my website in honor of Connie.
Beauty of a Rainbow

I saw a rainbow yesterday.
It made me think of you.
It made me look up to Heaven
and whisper ‘I love you’.

The colors stood out brilliantly
against the darkened sky.
I felt the tears begin to build
but heard you say “Don’t cry”.

It reminded me of your fight
and the courage you showed.
Despite your pain and suffering,
a loving smile still glowed.

Your faith in God never wavered.
You let Him take you Home.
Although I will miss your presence,
I know you’re not alone.

I know you’re in a peaceful world –
no suffering or pain.
The great blessing of knowing you
was certainly my gain.

You taught about human spirit –
compassion, strength and love.
I learned about true character
and see grace in a dove.

Because of you, I see sunshine
on a dull, rainy day.
You taught to see beyond dark clouds
if you look the right way.

Like the Beauty of a Rainbow,
you can’t measure its worth.
You were a small piece of Heaven
shining right here on Earth.
In loving memory of

Connie lost a long and
courageous battle to breast
cancer.  I've never seen
anyone handle adversity like
her.  I've often said, and still
do, that I'd like to be like Aunt
Connie when I grow up.

Thank you.
